Greggs are at it again with another incredible marketing stunt. In the North East Christmas starts with the Fenwick’s Christmas window reveal when the curtain drops on the famous department store’s annual display. It is usually around this time that the whole country gets excited for the Greggs festive bake.
This year the two went hand in hand on Friday as Greggs marketing team have outdone themselves by reversing its shop logo on Northumberland Street to capitalise on the popularity of Fenwick’s famous Christmas window display directly opposite.
Fenwicks gathers a crowd outside the store every year for the unveiling of the display, with hundreds of shoppers taking pictures of the window and posting them on social media. The difference this year is that amid scenes from children’s book The Snowman, there shines a bright Greggs-shaped logo as the reversed sign casts a reflection in the window.
The clever marketing stunt has been making the rounds on social media over the weekend with residents of Newcastle appreciating the idea. Well done Greggs.
